Critical thinking

A special method of analysis used to overcome faulty or misleading arguments. In recent decades, often used to refer to the process of overcoming specific techniques developed by the advertising and public relations industry to cover up the truth and manipulate public behavior. A typical critical thinking exercise might involve investigating the actual living conditions of animals depicted as happy cartoon figures on egg or milk cartons, or studying the actual meaning of a word such as "humane" in order to determine if the way it is being used is deliberately misleading.
